If you have never experienced Garfield Minus Garfield, I highly reccomend checking it out. I know it's sort of old news, but I've just revisited it and it is exquisit. It turns a mediocre comic about a fat cat who loves lasagna, into an oft-darkly hilarious comic about a depressed, socially awkward, clinically insane man who lives alone. And the best part is, the humour generally comes from how existentialist, depressing, or even frightening the comic becomes.
